Brockhampton is a self-proclaimed boy band, consisting of thirteen members, that was founded in 2010. The group lasted up until 2022, when they released their final two albums called TM and The Family.
Brockhampton creates a very unique sound and applies their own fun twists on every one of their songs. With the contrast of the members’ voices, and the amazing production from Romil Hemnani and the other dedicated producers, Brockhampton is one of the best bands you can listen to.
Brockhampton came together via an online post by Kevin Abstract, who wanted to create a rap group in San Marcos, Texas. Ameer Van and Matt Champion were some of the first people to respond to the post, and not too long afterwards, the group was formed.
One of Brockhampton’s most popular songs is “SUGAR”, off of their hit album GINGER. This song went viral in early 2020s on TikTok, due to a dance trend, and it hit Number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The guitar riff on this track is captivating, and with the diverse voices of all the different members, it all comes together for an almost perfect song.
Another great song, and one of my personal favorites from Brockhampton, is “MAN ON THE MOON” off of TM. This track is very upbeat and pop-influenced, but it puts its own unique twist on the genre. This song features high-pitched vocals and Auto-Tune, and they all match amazingly with the beat.
Additionally, “SUMMER” is also one of my favorite songs that Brockhampton has come out with. The guitar on this track is incredible and second to none, and combined with the beat drop and Bearface’s vocals, it is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Although the previous songs I’ve mentioned are amazing, “IF YOU PRAY RIGHT”, from Ginger, is also some of the best work Brockhampton has done. The horn lines in this song add so much to it, and the raps between the different band members will never fail to get you hyped up.
Overall, Brockhampton is one of the best artists you can check out right now, and their music is undeniably a must-listen for any music fan. And if you enjoy listening to Brockhampton, you should check out the solo work by Kevin Abstract, Ameer Vann, and Matt Champion.
