As winter leaves and spring approaches, that means it’s finally time for SPRING BREAK! After working so hard for weeks, students look forward to taking a rest from all their school work. However, staying home all day can get boring, so here are some fun ideas to do during your time off.
Living in Los Angeles feels like every day is summertime, and summer days mean beach days. Who doesn’t love a trip to the beach on a warm and sunny day? I know I do, and a trip to the beach sounds so amazing.
There are so many beaches for you to choose from, too. You can head over to Santa Monica Beach, with its fun activities and rides on the pier, or Laguna Beach, with its beautiful walking area, full of cute little bunnies roaming around. You can also check out my personal favorite, Malibu Beach, which is so warm and clean, with many people to see and restaurants to enjoy. And oh my God, the sunrises there are amazing and definitely worth waking up at 5am to experience.
Not a fan of the beach? Then take a hike. Literally!
Hiking in the mornings is said to bring a person some mental peace and a lot of energy for the rest of the
day. Very popular areas for hiking are the Griffith Park Trails and the Hollywood Sign Trail.
You might as well do something physical to stay in shape. Just remember to always bring water, because you’re definitely going to need it. Sometimes there are even cafes at the end of LA trails, so after working so hard, you might as well treat yourself to a snack or some cold ice cream.
And speaking of going outside, how about a nice picnic with friends and family? Pack some fresh fruit, cute sandwiches, something sweet (like a pie or cupcakes) and a couple drinks (non-alcoholic, of course). This sounds like such a calm and beautiful way to enjoy time with friends, and you should ask them to take pictures for Instagram, of course.
But something that I have done before, and will 100% do again this Spring Break, is host a movie night. Call some friends and decide on a movie beforehand, and then invite them over for a night full of popcorn, ramen, candies and frozen drinks. Having a backyard is a bonus for this activity, but inside movies are just as effective.
Enjoy your well-deserved vacation, Nitros, and don’t forget to try out one or two of the activities that I’ve mentioned. Please enjoy your break and take some time for yourself. Always do things you enjoy, get out of your comfort zone here and there, and remember to explore the small things that life has to offer.
Hope these ideas help! Your Explosion Staff wishes everyone a memorable and enjoyable Spring Break!
