The game with one of the best plot twists ever is BioShock, and it was released on August 21, 2007. It was written by Ken Levine and published by 2K Games. It stars some of the best voice actors, including Armin Shimerman, Karl Hanover, and Anne Bobby.
BioShock is one of the best story-driven, first-person shooter games ever released. These two elements help make up one of the best games you can buy.
The game begins with Jack Wynand surviving a plane crash at sea and eventually arriving at the underwater city of Rapture. Later on, we are introduced to several characters, which include Atlas, the founder of Rapture, who is voiced by Karl Hanover, Andrew Ryan, voiced by Armin Shimerman, and Brigid Tenenbaum, voiced by Anne Bobby.
We also find out that Rapture is filled with Big Daddies and their Little Sisters, whom we can rescue once their Big Daddy has been killed. We also discover that Rapture is currently in a Civil war, and most of its citizens have either been killed or have become Splicers.
One of the best aspects of this game is its major plot twist, which is one of the best surprises in video game history. The truth about Jack Wynand will absolutely blow you away, and you will immediately want to replay the whole game once you’ve finished it, just to catch all the details you missed the first time.
Another great aspect of this game is the many different Plasmids, or superpowers, that you can acquire throughout the game. One of the best ones is Telekinesis, which is useful when you are low on bullets, and you can pick up and throw objects towards nearby enemies. The Plasmid called Incinerate allows you to burn down ice walls to access certain areas, and Electro Bolt stuns and does damage to enemies when they shoot you. You can buy Plasmids like these at Gatherers’ Gardens vending machines, which are scattered throughout the city.
The Plasmids aren’t the only good thing in the game, as the different types of Splicers that appear throughout Rapture are also fun to battle. The best ones are Houdini Splicers, which turn invisible during fights, Spider Splicers, which climb on walls and ceilings, Leadhead Splicers, which can be annoying even though they don’t do much damage, and Nitro Splicers, which throw all kinds of explosives and are super challenging.
The small details that appear in this game are also great. For example, when Big Daddies don’t have their little sisters with them, they will just swat you away instead of attacking you when you get too close to them. Also, if you heavily damage a Splicer, sometimes it will simply play dead.
So you should definitely give BioShock a try, and you can purchase it now for most consoles for about $20. And if you enjoy this game, I suggest you go and play Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite, as they are both also pretty good games.
