Pet peeves, in many cases, can be absurd.
But at Glendale High School, a huge pet peeve is the lack of common decency from the students around campus. Although many times our Nitros are not often self-aware, they still do things that are incredibly discourteous, and it is important to highlight the impact these actions have had on our campus.

Slow walking is one of the many things students do that actually aggravates more people than we are willing to admit. Students not only walk slowly in hallways and walkways, but they also crowd around and block these spaces, making students late or simply creating a traffic jam. This causes safety concerns because it slows down movement, and people in an emergency will not be able to move quickly or efficiently.
In many cases, it is more than three people who block spaces or walk too slowly. Students should remember to be aware of their surroundings. They should also be understanding and respectful of everybody else’s time and step aside when other people are just trying to get to class.
Additionally, many students cut in line in the cafeteria, which just makes the line move more slowly. Students who do the cutting usually do it consistently, causing longer wait times and creating more chaos in the cafeteria than necessary.
Line cutting can ultimately lead to arguments, pushing, and eventually large fights in a crowded area. Students need to set a good example where people learn to be patient and encourage fairness throughout our campus.

Also, those students who purposely make a mess throughout campus clearly lack common decency. They mess up the bathrooms, making them uncomfortable for everyone, and they force our custodians to do more work than necessary.
Students should simply throw their trash in the bin and learn not to be a pain for others. No one should vandalize our campus, since this makes our school look more rundown.
All of our cleaning staff work hard to make our school look decent, yet some students, who have no respect for others, come and ruin everything. Making a mess creates a safety hazard, where people may trip and fall, and this clutter can build up quickly, creating an environment that is unsanitary for everyone.
Now, another issue throughout our school is all the public displays of affection. Relationships are a normal part of life, but there is a limit to the amount of physical behavior that should be done, especially in public spaces.

In many cases, these couples block hallways, entrances, and exits, which only ates more traffic jams. Besides this, they also make students feel uncomfortable.
School is supposed to be a safe place where students do not have to see improper actions. During lunch or passing periods, students do not want to deal with the awkwardness of seeing other students having intimate moments. Keep it respectful, you guys!
Overall, these pet peeves are things that have been consistently discussed at GHS, but our students need to be more considerate and have more respect for their fellow classmates. It is important to note that all of these rude actions cause discomfort throughout campus, so it is important for us to keep our environment acceptable.
We can’t be perfect, but we can try to get there. Try being more considerate, Nitros!
