“Goooood Mythical Morning!” is an intro I’ve been hearing for as long as I’ve known about YouTube.
Good Mythical Morning is a YouTube show that began in 2012, and it is still running to this day. They have a total of twenty-three seasons available now for streaming, and you should watch every one of them!
This show started as just two guys from North Carolina, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, talking about food. Each man has his own vibrant personality, so they make a great team to host a show.
McLaughlin is generally the calmer member of the pair, and he is more collected but has the best burns when it comes to his partner. Neal is usually the one with the best reactions to things on the show, and he makes a hilarious co-host.

I personally started watching McLaughlin and Neal when they came out with their “Will It…” episodes. In these videos, they take regular food items, like ice cream sandwiches or tacos, and add weird ingredients to them that usually don’t belong. Sometimes their ingredients are as odd as congealed pork blood, which is the most hated thing they’ve ever tried.
In seasons past, their videos were very basic as far as the food, because they would just put a glob of peanut butter in a taco shell and call it a “peanut butter taco”. But now, in videos such as “Will It Slushie?”, The Mythical Kitchen crafts these food items one-by-one, and this is way more complicated than just blending Hot Cheetos and ice and calling it a day.
The Mythical Kitchen has become its own show, and it was derived from the original Good Mythical Morning show. You may have heard of this channel from videos like “Gordon Ramsay Eats His Last Meal”. There are many other episodes to this show, including interviews with celebrities while they eat the “last meal” of their choice, including an entrée, a main course and a dessert.
Recently, The Mythical Kitchen has become a more popular YouTube channel than Good Mythical Morning, and they have begun doing more sponsorships than normal. I don’t recall them doing as much advertising on their channel when I used to watch them in the past.
It makes me believe that McLaughlin and Neal might be struggling with keeping the channel alive. It makes me really sad to see, since they have always been a part of my childhood. Even though both men have families of their own, and they are in their 40’s already, they keep producing more and more videos, which just shows their commitment to their job.
I admire their friendship as well, since it is not easy to maintain a partnership, especially after social media may try to come between them. There is usually a struggle when a business relies completely on a friendship.
If you haven’t watched Good Mythical Morning before, I suggest you give it a chance. And you can either watch one of their “Will It?” videos or an episode called “Is Fancy Food Actually WORSE?”
Trust me you won’t regret giving this channel a try. Just watch it while eating your breakfast. This YouTube show is the perfect casual show to watch.
