There’s More to Life than Ice-Blended!

Starbucks is not your only option for coffee in LA!
Wild+Oak+Cafe
Wild Oak Cafe

Starbucks. It’s convenient and has unique drinks.

But is it really that good?

In my opinion, Starbucks just isn’t always your best option. On occasion, there are good drinks available there, like seasonal drinks, but besides that, the coffee isn’t that good and neither are the refreshers. And there are so many alternative coffee shops that are way better!

Let’s take a look at some of the best coffee shops in Los Angeles.

Ideology Coffee

A lovely local place, where you can get food and coffee, is Ideology! They have a few locations around the Valley and in LA, but they also have one right here in Glendale, located near the Galleria! They have several food items, ranging from pastries to breakfast sandwiches, and their coffee is amazing.

Wild Oak Cafe

Wild Oak Cafe is located in Chevy Chase Canyon, which isn’t too far away from Glendale Community College. It’s hidden in this residential area of the canyon, which means a lot of locals walk or bike to the coffee shop. I recommend arriving early, because it gets crowded quickly! Their menu is very inclusive, and their coffee is amazing. The people that work there are extremely kind as well.

BLVD Cafecito

BLVD Cafecito

Blvd Cafecito is probably my favorite coffee shop on this list. It’s located in Burbank, which isn’t that convenient, but the coffee is worth the drive. It has the best coffee, chai, tea, and matcha, and their food is incredible!

They have a wide range of food options, like pastries and breakfast burritos, as well as bagels and breakfast bowls. Everybody that works at BLVD is super sweet and accommodating. They have outdoor seating, and their drinks and meals are made quickly.

Commissary Coffee

Commissary is located in Kenneth Village, just outside of Burbank. It’s a little bit hidden in a residential neighborhood, which is nice. There are local small shops and a small ice cream shop in the village, as well. It’s very peaceful and relaxing to get a nice cup of coffee and walk around that neighborhood!

Commissary Coffee

Alfred Coffee

Last, but certainly not least, is Alfred Coffee, one of my favorite cafes on this list. They have several locations in LA, including Pasadena and Burbank. Alfred’s has the best matcha, and their staff is always coming out with new drinks! For example, during the month of November, they released a drink collaborating with the horror film, Thanksgiving, that was playing in theaters at the time. Their coffee and chais are amazing as well, and you can never go wrong with their tasty hot chocolate.

All of these coffee shops are better alternatives to Starbucks, and they all taste amazing. So I highly recommend that you check them out!

Have fun and enjoy 🙂
