Club Rush was held in the quad at Glendale High School at lunchtime on September 6 and 7, and it was a great success. The event left students excited, and it made them eager to dive into extracurricular activities.
Club Rush was a hub of opportunity, showcasing a wide range of clubs that catered to diverse interests. From academic clubs to sports teams and creative organizations, there was something for every student.
Maneh Alumyan, president of the Coding Club, invites everybody to join her club, as anyone with any level of experience can learn to code, do robotics, and discuss new inventions and important people in
STEM. Maneh hopes that students can gain experience and earn STEM related community service hours, and their meetings will be held during lunch every first and last Thursday of the month.
Nanar Tutunjian, president of the Animal Humane Society, is encouraging students to join and help all the sheltered animals, by finding and donating toys to the Pasadena Humane Society. This organization saves the lives of many animals, especially those who have been found abandoned or disowned.
Amelia Knur, a member of the Culinary Club, welcomes all people who are willing to understand the culinary world and discover what they want to do and love. Club members will hopefully understand the different cuisines of the world, bake tasty goods for the school and participate in fundraisers.
Natali Manual has also recently founded the GHS Crochet Club, whose purpose is for people to learn crochet, while also working with partners and having fun. Natali’s goal by the end of the year is that
everyone will be able to learn all the advanced stitches and spend a great time with friends while being creative together.
Phoebe Antonio and Danica Martinez are bringing attention to the HERd Club. The purpose of this club is to provide a safe space for girls and non-binary students, to talk about the misogyny they face in their lives and to bring more awareness to the problem.
Loveneet Kaur is calling upon everybody to join the Drama Club. They hope to create a safe environment for students to be themselves and act out what they are willing to be. Drama Club members will make new friends and discover themselves more, by playing various roles and enjoying their time.
Inga Vardanyan, president of the Filmmaking Club, is offering an opportunity for all future young filmmakers. Members will gain experience, by filming short films together and going on occasional field trips. Inga believes that they will all have a great time with friends and be introduced to all the things that the club has to offer.
