The Hangover, directed by Todd Phillips, is an American comedy starring Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha. This movie was released in 2009 and is available to watch now on Netflix. The Hangover has many hilarious twists and turns that make the movie so watchable.
The Hangover is about four friends taking a trip to Las Vegas for a bachelor party for Doug (Bartha). They all have a crazy night, and in the morning, Alan (Galifianakis), Phil (Cooper) and Stu (Helms) discover that Doug is missing. The three of them can’t remember anything that happened the night before, and all they know is that they need to find Doug in two days to make it in time for his wedding. They begin to retrace their steps slowly and go through many wild events along the way.
Most of the actors in this movie are well-known now because of their roles here, and they all absolutely crush their performances in The Hangover. Cooper is very famous now, especially for his roles in A Star Is Born and Limitless, and he is so funny as Phil.
Galifianakis is also very hilarious in this film. He is mostly known from his YouTube series called Between Two Ferns on Funny or Die, where he holds uncomfortable interviews with famous celebrities. He is also very likable as Alan, despite the fact that the character is so clueless and often cruel.
Helms is well-known for his long-running character, Andy Bernard, on The Office, which is one of my favorite shows. Helms delivers his role amazingly in The Hangover, and you really feel for him as he tries to figure out what happened to his tooth.
Most of the film takes place in Las Vegas. And someone very famous appears in the movie that is totally unexpected, but I won’t give it away.
Overall, this movie is so funny and re-watchable. There is no point during the movie where you will feel bored or uninterested. Every second is amazing, and some parts may even bring you to tears from laughing so much.
The music also adds so much excitement to the movie. Hit songs, such as “Right Round”, “Candy Shop” and “Who Let the Dogs Out”, are perfect for the scenes in which they appear. Also, there is a terrific song called “Three Best Friends”, which was written and performed by Galifiankis, and another great one called “Stu’s Song”, which was written and performed by Helms. The producers really thought out the music, and it adds to the overall success of the film.
To sum it all up, The Hangover is definitely a movie that everyone should watch at least once. It is worth every minute of your time.
