Wed Al-Dulaimi is currently a junior at Glendale High School and is the founder and president of the Pre-Med Club. She was born in Jordan, and her favorite hobbies and activities include going to the beach, hanging out with her friends, listening to music and baking.
Wed founded the Pre-Med Club during her sophomore year and said, “I have always been very passionate about the medical field, so I wanted to bring that same energy into Glendale High School.” The purpose of her club is to help students on campus discover their career pathway in the medical field and invite those interested in pursuing a career in health care.
School-related club activities include Round Up and fundraisers, and during meetings, they practice performing medical procedures, such as surgeries on bananas and taking vital signs. And they are currently exploring the aspects of dentistry. Outside of school, club members volunteer at hospitals and make special cards for hospital and nursing home patients.
Wed’s favorite part about being president of this club is meeting all the members and seeing them come and show an interest in the medical field. She stated, “It makes me feel like I actually made a difference and allowed students to find time in their day to meet and grow their knowledge about medicine.”

Wed believes that this club will benefit other students at GHS, because it offers community service hours for making cards for patients, volunteering at hospitals, and helping with school events. She thinks that our students should join because her club members are constantly creating a fun and positive environment that encourages students to come and learn, and it will be good for students to join and experience it.
For this year, Wed hopes to raise money to donate to charities, children’s hospitals, and other medical facilities. After she graduates, she hopes her club will continue to thrive and be a big part of our campus culture.
Wed hopes to attend a four-year university after graduating from GHS and then pursue medical school, ultimately becoming a doctor.
