Dahlia Vignol is currently a senior at Glendale High School and serves as the president of the GHS Drama Club. Dahlia will be starring as the lead role of Willy Wonka in the drama department’s upcoming production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in February, and she can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Dahlia has been in the Drama Club since her freshman year. Her reason for joining the club was that she had been a dancer for quite some time, but she ended up quitting. She wanted to try something new, so she decided to join the Drama Club. After joining the club, she participated in a few plays and said she had a good time being a part of them.
As a child, Dahlia said that “dance was [her] whole thing,” and she did not participate in any other after-school activities in elementary school other than dance. For a while, she thought that she was going to continue dancing all throughout high school, but she decided to change her mind and started to explore new options once she started high school. And then she found acting.
Dahlia has been in three plays at GHS so far, and this upcoming play will be her fourth. For this year’s play, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, she is so excited to have the lead role. Just before break, the Drama Club members received the casting list for the play, and they planned to start rehearsals after Thanksgiving Break.

Over the summer, Dahlia attended a school trip to London, and she was able to see three different plays at the West End theaters, which are similar to Broadway shows in New York. For Dahlia, being able to go to London and see these performances was a really cool experience.
In the future, Dahlia would love to continue with drama and acting in college. She wants to major in Drama and plans to do so by attending a UC. So far, she has applied to only a few UCs, like UCLA and UC Irvine, and she has also applied to some private schools. Dahlia said, “I’m just kind of throwing much out there, like I don’t have a dream school set.”
