As a senior who has definitely spent too many late nights watching TV, Desperate Housewives is the one show I never get tired of. This show was created by Marc Cherry, and it stars Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, and Marcia Cross.
This series has the perfect mix of drama, mystery, comedy, and real life chaos, and it always keeps me hooked. You can start watching this series right now on Hulu. It’s the kind of show where you start “just to see what it’s about,” and suddenly you’re ten episodes in without realizing it.
Desperate Housewives takes place on Wisteria Lane, a neighborhood that looks picture perfect, but is full of secrets and messy situations. The best seasons for me are Seasons 1 and 8, because these episodes kept me most in suspense.
The first season is what got me to continue the show and Season 8 has the most drama and chaos. If you decide to start this series, it’s best if you start from the beginning, because you will be confused and you will not understand all of the character development that takes place later.
That’s honestly what makes this show so entertaining. Each main character brings something different: Susan has her emotional moments, Bree has her need for perfection, Gabrielle has her wild personality, and Lynette has her crazy family dealing with a million things at once.
Watching these women feels like watching real people going through life, just with way more drama. What I like most is how the show jumps from funny scenes to serious moments so smoothly. One minute I’m laughing, and the next I’m shocked, stressed, or actually thinking about the character’s problems.
The storylines get deeper as the seasons go on, and even though this series is dramatic, it never feels boring or predictable. I recommend Desperate Housewives to anyone who wants a show that actually keeps you invested.
It’s entertaining, relatable in unexpected ways, and honestly just so much fun to watch. Whether you’re into mystery, comedy or relationship drama, or if you just need an escape after a long day of school, this show is perfect.
Desperate Housewives is the show I go back to when I want something exciting but comforting. If you’re looking for a series to get completely obsessed with, this one is definitely worth starting.
