Massa Albuni is our sophomore class president at Glendale High School, she is a member of Pre-Med Club, CSF, and the Spanish Club, and she is also serving as the publicist and director of communications for the MESA Club. Massa has been a part of all of these clubs since she was a freshman, and whenever she isn’t busy with homework, she likes to hang out with her friends and bake, specifically pastries.
Massa wanted to join ASB at GHS because she likes to be of service to others. “I wanted to help out, and I really like to help people,” she said. “I like to be involved in school, and I feel like ASB is one of the best ways to help and encourage that.”

Massa is a leader, and ASB is the perfect class for her. She had taken leadership classes like ASB back in elementary school, but once she entered middle school, she took a tech class that contributed to ASB. But she was not officially a part of ASB once again until she was voted class president during her freshman year.
Massa loves everything about being in ASB, but her favorite thing is setting up before rallies. She also enjoys planning for events like Oratorical, and she likes the fact that she knows things that are going on at school that other people don’t.
On a normal day in her ASB class, Massa says that they always start off the period with a daily meeting where they always debate, and in her opinion, it gets really funny. After their daily meeting, if a rally is upcoming, they work on posters and stickers, but if nothing is going on, Massa just helps out with whatever Mr. Livingston needs. “It’s just mainly helping out, setting up [and] preparing for whatever’s gonna come next,” she said.
As class president, Massa’s main role is to lead her commissioners and her other cabinet members, and make sure they’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing. “Most [class presidents] don’t actually [help them],” she explained. “They just make their commissioners do it, but I like to help them out.”

Massa’s favorite event to work on is the Farewell Rally in May, because she thinks it’s really fun, especially with all the seniors leaving and the nice memories being made during that event. Although she loves working on rallies, she wishes that the school staff weren’t so strict about everything, because in her opinion, it would be much more fun if they had more opportunities for spirit.
Two traits that Massa thinks all ASB members should have are communication and team spirit. She says that in ASB, it’s one group working together and they always work as a team. You might have to work with somebody you don’t know, but in the end, you will have to try your best to make every event a success. People with good communication skills and team spirit will always be there to help others.
Overall, Massa is an amazing leader, and we are so happy to have her as our sophomore class president. All sophomores are invited to attend our sophomore class council meetings, which are held every Tuesday at lunch in Room 2329.
