Rebel is an album by EsDeeKid, a rapper from Liverpool, England, and it was released on June 20, 2025. The album is mostly all fast-paced UK rap, it has eleven songs, and the whole album is only twenty minutes long. For a while, I had been looking for an album that is all mostly hits, but none have come close to how constant this album is with its songs.
“4 Raws”, which is the first track on the album, is one of the best songs. EsDeeKid talks about his risky lifestyle and how he is changing his personality and who he is as a person. He also talks about his roots and struggles and how he grew up “broke, no joke, but I spun back up.”
“Cali Man” is the second song on the album, and it is my second favorite one. In this song, the artist just talks about his criminal past and his work ethic. He admits, “Never paid for my clothes, lad. I jugged fits,” meaning that he had to steal all of his clothes when he was younger. And despite this, he has now been able to “turn music into money,” which shows that he’s not just doing music for the street cred but also for the hustle.
“Prague” is the next song on the album, but it’s one of the bottom three tracks on the playlist. The speed of this song is too fast, the lyrics are not very strong, and it doesn’t really meet the expectations set by the first two songs. It is also different from the other tracks by EsDeeKid, so you can probably skip this one.
The fourth song, “Dirty”, is another middle-tier track on the album. The pace of the beat is also way too fast, and that makes the delivery very sloppy and the whole song is kind of a mess.
However, “LV Sandals” is the best track on the whole album. What makes this song the best is that the pace is fast, but it’s not so fast to where EsDeeKid can’t even sing normally. Instead, the rhythm is just solid, and the whole song is at the same tempo. Also the beat fits the theme of the song perfectly, and this is why this is the best all around track.
“Panic” is the next song on the album, but the tempo and rhythm on this track just feel off. Also the lyrics are pretty weak, and it feels like the artist is just trying to add a song to the playlist. It doesn’t build on what works earlier, and instead it feels like a drop. For me, “Panic” ends up being one of the weaker songs on the album.
The next song, “5am”, has a weird vibe that doesn’t quite sit right; the words don’t feel natural and it seems like the flow is forced. I was hoping for more here, but “5am” falls far below what I was expecting.
“Phantom” is actually the most popular song from this album, but it is barely outside of my top three. I think that what makes this song popular is the fast and crazy tempo, which many people like so much about. I also like this track very much, because it matches most of my favorite songs on this album, but I just don’t like the lyrics and it is just a bit too fast for me.
“Mist” is another good song on this album. It is very similar to the beginning of “Cali Man”, which takes both tracks down a notch, but this is still a very good song.
“Rottweiler”, the second-to-last song on this album, is a banger and it is definitely in my top three. The beat is not really that fast, and EsDeeKid raps both slowly and quickly at the same time. The vibe on this song is just the best. It is also the second most popular song on this album, and this is not surprising at all.
“Tartan” is the last song on the album, and I was expecting it to be better because it’s the final song, and it should have been a banger. But wow, this track is a failure and it’s the worst song on the whole playlist.
What makes this track the worst is the main feature of the song. The artist is singing most of the time, but his vocals don’t really fit in with the beat. And when EsdeeKid finally gets into the song, I was expecting him to save it, but he just can’t do it, which really ruins this track for me.
In the end, if you are the kind of person who likes fast-paced UK rap music, I would definitely recommend Rebel by EsDeeKid, because the album had seven or eight good songs, which is actually a good ratio.
And if you enjoy this album, you should also check out “Century” and Merseyside, because they also have the same vibe as Rebel.
