Vache Muradian is a junior at Glendale High School, and he is currently serving as the president of both our Save the Seas Club and Charity and Community Club. In his free time, he likes to go out with friends and eat food. His hobbies include shopping for clothes and spending time with friends and family.
Vache only transferred to Glendale High School from Clark Magnet High School last year, but he has already obtained multiple president positions on campus. He recalled, “It was kind of hard the first two months, but after that it was pretty easy.”
At Clark, Vache felt like he didn’t have access to many resources, but at GHS, he believes that he has had more opportunities for sports, extracurricular activities and AP classes. He was one of many students who were part of a sport here on campus while attending Clark. Another con for him was that he lives five minutes away from our campus, and he saw no point in taking Clark’s transportation system all the way to La Crescenta.
Vache is not only the president of multiple clubs, but he is also still involved around campus. He is a member of the GHS dance team, Nitro Crew, Impact Club, and Weightlifting Club, and he also serves as a varsity member of our boys’ varsity volleyball team. He likes to stay involved in other clubs besides his own, because he knows it will benefit him in the long run for college.

Vache’s favorite thing about transferring to GHS so far is the people he has met. Before coming here, he already had friends who were attending GHS, which made the transition easier for him. He said, “School isn’t always the funnest thing, but friends make it a lot better.” (I think most of us understand this.)
Vache became president of the Save the Seas and Charity and Community Clubs after just being involved in each one of them. Although he didn’t attend GHS until last year, he was showing up to our football games and helping out our Save the Seas members. He stated, “I think I gained the trust of the president and just inherited the presidency.”
Vache not only built a strong connection with the cabinet members of both clubs, but he also showed dedication. He was consistently volunteering for events for both clubs, and the cabinet definitely saw his passion for service.
Vache’s purpose for Save the Seas is to continue helping the environment. He knows about the spiking concerns over global warming and its effects on our planet. For him, these clean-ups at football games not only help by recycling what needs to be recycled, but they also help the janitors who clean up after the game.
The main purpose of the Charity and Community (or C&C) Club is to offer opportunities for people to gain community service hours. In short, they look for small, non-profit organizations and small businesses, find out when they need help, and share these details with their club members. It is then up to club members to decide if they want to take advantage of these opportunities or not.
In terms of goals, Vache beleives that “Save the Seas is in a really good place right now.” He just wants to continue the legacy that has been built by previous members. “For C&C, I just want to [look] for more community service opportunities for all my members,” he said. He wants his membership numbers to increase for both clubs and make a stronger impact on our campus.

As for himself, Vache wants to improve in his academics, his dancing abilities, and his volleyball skills. He knows that what he is doing now is going to benefit him in the long run, and despite the fact that he is only a second-year student at GHS, he has already done so much around campus.
Vache’s advice for incoming freshmen, and for anyone new who plans on transferring to GHS, is that “connections are the biggest thing.” He believes that he is where he is now, because he got to know the cabinet members of both clubs.
Vache also suggests that all students should get involved in other extracurricular activities, “like a sport or [anything] outside of school,” and being a part of off-campus opportunities can help students “meet new people and have fun at the same time.”
