Versace held their Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Show on September 22, 2023, in Milan, Italy. The theme of this year’s event was “Youth, Confidence, and the Energy of City Living”, and overall, this theme was well represented. Youth was shown through the colors and hairstyles seen in a lot of the looks. The theme “energy of city living” was shown in the model’s walks, as they were fast-paced (and obviously in a hurry).
Famous guest stars modeled on the runway that day, including Claudia Schiffer, Gigi Hadid, and even Kendall Jenner.
Claudia Schiffer is a German model, who was most popular in the 1990’s, and she is still one of the most famous supermodels in the fashion world. She actually first modeled in shows for Versace in 1995, and she made a triumphant comeback by walking the runway at this year’s show.
Schiffer wore a long maxi dress with a shiny yellow and silver checkered pattern. She was rocking that runway just like she did back in the 90s!
Gigi Hadid walked the runway fiercely, by modeling a sparkly yellow maxi-length dress. Personally, I think she walked that runway like a boss. Oh, wait, she literally modeled for Boss!
Kendall Jenner, modeling a straight white dress and a white handbag, looked like a doll. Her hairstyle was also common compared to many of the other models who walked the runway that day. Her hairstyle was a “half-up, half-down” look, along with a bow at the top. This style choice made Jenner, and all the models, look like they had a baby face.
I loved the overall color scheme of this Versace collection. Most outfits consisted of pastel colors, such as yellow, pink, and green. I also noticed that a few models wore black outfits as well.
A few models also wore black coats with white grids patterned on them. I wasn’t a big fan of this, because it was too flashy and hard on the eyes.
Other outfits consisted of a silver and yellow, diamond-checkered pattern. At first, I wasn’t very fond of this style, as I felt like these two colors clashed a little bit. But the more I kept seeing it, the more I realized that the yellow took over the shiny silver and made it look really unique and like something new.
As far as shoes go, I was really weirded out by the flat silver shoes that most women wore. The peep toe was skinny, but still very visible, making the front of the shoe look unfinished.
Anok Yai, along with another male model, each sported a red leather outfit. Yai was wearing white shoes, and the male model had a white bag that complimented his red ensemble. The leather looked really lovely as a suit top and pants, but it was not a very stylish women’s button-up jacket. It all looked really bulky. Furthermore, Versace brought back a lot of the 90’s runway fashion this year. This collection was truly something special, and it will surely not be forgotten anytime soon.
