The feeling was in the air on Election Day: Kamala Harris had no chance of winning. It dawned on the country fairly quickly, especially after Trump won Georgia and North Carolina, then Pennsylvania. But this was an unexpected outcome, as just weeks before, most forecasts and polls predicted a Harris win. So what went wrong?
From fear-mongering about Project 2025, to the constant babble about women suddenly losing their rights during a second Trump administration, (even though he’s already been president and no such thing has happened), its safe to say that Harris ran on fear. And lots of it. Of course, Harris still acknowledges Trump as the one inciting division. But is he really?
The topic of conversation when it comes to Trump’s “division” usually centers around the events of January 6th. But the media refuses to acknowledge what REALLY happened on this day. There is no doubt that January 6th was a depressing, violent day in our country’s history. However, it is unfair to place the blame entirely on Trump.
Leaked transcripts show that Trump warned top Pentagon officials of a possible violent mob arising on January 6th just days before the event. This warning was ignored.
According to the leaked transcripts of General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Trump had said, “There’s going to be a large amount of protesters here on the 6th. Make sure that you have sufficient National Guard or soldiers to make sure it’s a safe event.”
Milley responded by saying, “Hey, we’ve got a plan, and we’ve got it covered.” Seems like they didn’t have it covered.
Coincidentally on January 5th, according to those same transcripts, the Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy, placed “unprecedented restrictions” on DC National Guard Commander Major General William Walker, to prevent movement to the Capitol, without McCarthy’s explicit permission on January 6th and 7th.
The rabbit hole goes deeper. In an interview with After Words, Former Capital Police Chief, Steven Sund, exposed the truth about January 6th and his inability to call in the National Guard. “So I put out that call, only to find out there was delay, after delay, after delay,” he said. “What I hadn’t realized was that, just two days earlier, the Secretary of Defense had put out this memo restricting the resources that my men and women so greatly needed on January 6, for an attack that I now believe they knew was coming, because they had talked about it.”
Yet January 6th is still wrongfully painted as solely the fault of Donald Trump in the minds of millions of Americans. It is still used by the media to turn Americans against our President-elect, and many of them will never change their point of view.
A major, controversial, decision by Trump was the implementation of mass deportations of illegal immigrants, highlighted in his presidential framework, Agenda 47. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, there were around 11 million undocumented immigrants in the USA, with a record level of ten million encounters at the border in 2022. While many of these people come to our country with good intentions, we must acknowledge the motives behind a small percentage of them.
According to the Customs and Border Protection Agency, since 2021, there have been about 75,395 arrests made of noncitizens, excluding the hundreds of thousands of known convicted criminals who have already entered the country. This danger is reflected upon American society, with horrible cases such as the murder of Laken Riley.
Another example is the notorious Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, which in recent years has increased in the USA tremendously. The gang is now active in over sixteen states, most notably in Aurora, Colorado, where Tren de Aragua quite literally took over Whispering Pines, an apartment complex with over fifty-four units.
The gang then engaged in “violent assaults, threats of murder, extortion, strongarm tactics, and child prostitution as they exerted a ‘stranglehold’ on the Aurora apartment complex,” Aurora City Manager Jason Batchelor said in a letter to the mayor, according to CBS. This takeover actually impacted the immigrant community in the town much more, and evidence shows that the gang actually targeted minority immigrant populations, engaging in human trafficking, violent crimes and more.
This is one of the many, many struggles facing our communities, and speaking of immigrant populations, unauthorized immigration is a blatant slap in the face to the hardworking American immigrants who have gone through the legal pathways to acquire citizenship, which includes years of struggle and tedious work. In what way is it fair for some people in our country to go through the entire immigration process, while Venezuelan gangs are able to come in with no difficulty?
The goal of mass deportations is for one thing and one thing only: safety.
Trump himself has said he is pro immigration, such as his remarks on strengthening the border in 2019. “Our proposal builds upon our nation’s rich history of immigration, while strengthening the bonds of citizenship that bind us together as a national family,” he said. “Throughout our history, we have proudly welcomed newcomers to our shores. Out of many people, from many places, we have forged one people and one nation under God, and we’re very proud of it.”
Trump also plans on strengthening the immigration system in general, such as the construction of the border wall, which Harris herself supported in the controversial Border Act of 2024. One of the largest enhancements will be the enhanced vetting process, which provides screening of each asylum seeker much more quickly, and filtering out those who pose a risk to the United States. Trump also plans to construct regional processing centers in nearby countries, to process individuals more efficiently and lead to a smoother decision-making process for those seeking asylum, rather than placing a strain on our US border patrol resources. This ensures that we get the right people in the right places, and deport those individuals, such as the members of Tren de Aragua, who have taken away the safety of everyday Americans.
Let’s also not forget the Obama administration, which deported the highest number of people in American history, more than any other president, with over 2.5 million deportations throughout his presidency. Similar to Obama, Trump plans on focusing on undocumented immigrants who are criminals within the country, then prioritizing those who came illegally across the border.
The next, and most notable fear tactic used during Harris’ campaign is Project 2025. This is the most important, imaginary problem of our generation. Harris pulled the “P25 card” any chance she got, which was a lot.
But what really is Project 2025? It is a roadmap for a future conservative presidency, composed by the Heritage Foundation, with many controversial policy proposals concerning education, homeland security, immigration, taxes, and regulatory policy.
Many of these proposals involve conservative ideals and preserving traditional values for the country. Harris used this as one of her (many) excuses to call Trump a fascist dictator and Hitler sympathizer. But of course, Harris won’t acknowledge how often Trump has distanced himself from the Heritage foundation’s Project 2025.
“They’ve been told officially, legally, in every way, that we have nothing to do with Project 2025,” Trump said. “They know it, but they bring it up anyway. They bring up every single thing that you can bring up. Every one of them was false.”
We also know Trump has his own plan for the presidency, called Agenda 47. Despite what the mainstream media says, Agenda 47 is vastly different from Project 2025. Project 2025 focuses more on setting a conservative standard throughout the GOP, not just the Trump administration.
In the context of healthcare, for example, Project 2025 advocates for cutting social security and medicare. Conversely, Agenda 47 specifically states, “Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security.”
When it comes to immigration, Project 2025 specifies bringing back every Trump policy from 2016, while Agenda 47 also speaks of adding checkpoints across the border and adding vetting stations to improve and smoothen out the migration process for both migrants and border agencies.
While Trump has vowed to close the Department of Education, many say this would be unlikely, and since then he has appointed Linda McMahon to lead the Department.
When it comes to abortion, Project 2025 is much stricter than Agenda 47, and it advocates for removing birth control and not recognizing the consequential side effects of intercourse. By contrast, Trump has expressed a more moderate attitude towards abortion, speaking of allowing states to choose, and he has since denied a national abortion ban.
So what can we expect from Trump over the next four years? Peace, prosperity, and a better America.
Just days after Donald Trump won the election, Hamas called for an “immediate end to war”. Trump began negotiations with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the crisis in Ukraine. Stocks surged to record highs, and big pharma stocks plummeted, especially after RFK’s nomination to head the Department of Health and Human Services . All this has happened, and Trump isn’t even President yet.
Why is this? It seems as though the world knows that the United States is no longer being run by a manchurian candidate, and it’s time to regain what we have lost. The future of America looks bright, and the next four years will not be the hellscape that many people believe it will be.
