On July 21st, 2024, at 10:46 AM, President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race in a post on X. This was expected to most, after his disastrous debate performance with former President Donald Trump. The debate consisted of a slow Joe, with many moments of confusion and what seemed like only half (or less) of our President being present. But at least we finally beat Medicare?
Almost immediately after dropping out, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, once again in an X post. This began a record-breaking, historical presidential race by the Harris Campaign. Within 24 hours, Harris raised over $81 million, a never-before-seen occurrence in modern politics. But really, what can we expect from Kamala Harris if she is elected on November 5th?
Let’s start off with Horrendous Harris’ already disastrous history as Vice President. Her main “accomplishments” as VP have consisted of piggy-backing off of Joe Biden’s semi-successful achievements, or maybe even her infamous role as “border czar”, a nickname given to her by many after her task concerning the border. According to the Associated Press, President Biden “tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the White House effort to tackle the migration challenge at the U.S. southern border and work with Central American nations to address root causes of the problem.”
Under Harris’ watch, Customs and Border Protection reported approximately ten million illegal alien encounters throughout the nation, and around eight million encounters at the Southwest border. This also includes the two million “gotaways” who have entered the country since 2021. Encounters at official points of entry have surged from less than 20,000 in January 2021, to more than 117,000 in June of 2024. During recent years, 13,099 known murderers, 15,811 known rapists, and 425,431 known convicted criminals illegally crossed the border.
Listen to what Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green said in an interview with Fox News: “It may be shocking to hear that the Biden/Harris administration is actively releasing tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens into our communities, but their own numbers conclusively prove this to be the case. This defies all common sense.”
He continued, “Under President Biden and his ‘border czar,’ Vice President Harris, DHS law enforcement has been directed to mass-release illegal aliens whom they know have criminal convictions or are facing charges for serious crimes. And these dangerous, destructive individuals are making their way into every city and state in this country.”
What difference will Harris really make as President, when the Biden/Harris administration couldn’t even control the border during the last four years?
Even her current policy on the border is weak, and she plans to “fix the broken immigration system”, with a lack of specifications on how exactly she will achieve this. Her only blueprint is to bring back the bipartisan border bill which has been a topic of conversation by Harris.
This bill is the failed Border Act of 2024, introduced by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn). Harris argues that this bill was rejected by Republicans so immigration can be used as a “fear tactic” for the election.
However, this is the very bill that would lead to an absolute disaster at the border. According to an article by the Heritage Foundation, the bill would allow 5,000 encounters of illegal aliens daily for seven days continually, before this would be considered an “emergency”. It will also disregard those who already traveled beyond 100 miles from the southwestern border. The Biden-Harris administration has also introduced immigration bills in the past that proposed over $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, as if the hundreds of billions in funding and assistance weren’t enough.
One can also raise the question, why are the Democrats now moving forward with border safety?
Over two months have gone by, and the Brat campaign honeymoon has ended. People have started to realize that the presidential candidate for the United States of America has spent the past months making TikToks and using clever one-liners. Harris has finally released some policy (but spoiler alert: it got worse). Her main talking point consists of “strengthening the middle class”, but will she really accomplish this? The truth of the matter is that a Harris/Walz presidency just means more spending and borrowing, and more money printing to pay for it all.
According to the New York Post, “To bring down the record-high costs of basic goods pummeling American families, [Harris will] ‘crack down on anti-competitive practices that let big corporations jack up prices,’ and push through ‘a federal ban on corporate price gouging on food and groceries.’” This all comes after Harris’ reluctance to admit to the improper spending of the Biden/Harris administration, and her consistent act of blaming corporations suddenly becoming evil during her administration. Harris has also promised $6,000 in child tax credits, $25,000 to help first-time homeowners, and more irresponsible handouts from the government.
But this raises the question: Where will all this money come from? Harris was recently asked this in an interview with 60 Minutes (check the 3:45 mark), and was unable to answer the question and went off-topic.
One organization who has raised concern about this is the nonpartisan Tax Foundation, who said, “We estimate the proposed tax changes would reduce long-run GDP by 2.0 percent, the capital stock by 3.0 percent, wages by 1.2 percent, and employment by about 786,000 full-time equivalent jobs.”
This means that the long term effects of Harris’ economic policy would (approximately) result in the following:
- Gross Domestic Product (GDP) : -2.0%
- Gross National Product (GNP) : -1.8%
- Capital Stock: -3.0%
- Wage Rate: -1.2%
- Full-Time Equivalent Jobs: -786,000
Comparing this to Trump’s economic policy, we see who the clear winner is here.
Trump’s economic plan is estimated to affect the economy much more effectively, and benefit ALL Americans, not just one class. After all, we already had a Trump presidency, and his accomplishments economically before and after COVID are drastically better compared to Biden/Harris. And if Kamala Harris is going to implement most of the same policies as Biden, and if many economists and political scientists strongly oppose a Harris/Walz administration, what leads Americans to pursue another four years of this?
With media bias growing, the country has been divided by all the same major corporations that control every single news source. Every. Single. News Source.
This has led to derangement and stupidity on both sides. People are voting for president like it’s a reality show, focusing on flashy words and appearances. This was seen in 2020, where Democratic voters consistently used words such as “racist,” “bigoted,” and more to describe Trump, while ignoring the racist history of Joe Biden.
The same is occurring with Kamala Harris, whose campaign is based on appearance, looking nice for the camera, and appealing to an uninformed Gen Z population, through fear mongering and social media posts. She has used consistent political tactics of using emotion, such as appealing to suffering black communities, by promising more reliance on the government and misusing her racial ancestry to convey a sense of trust. She is focusing her entire campaign on slogans, such as “We Are Not Going Back”, but she hasn’t explained what exactly we are going back to.
Under Trump, there were no major wars, no border crisis, a stable economy, and basic common sense? Maybe we should go back.
All paths leading to a Harris presidency point to disaster, but many are currently on it. It’s safe to say that a hefty amount of Americans are making a foolish mistake this election season, focusing on how much they hate Trump, while ignoring the future they are bringing upon themselves.
