“If I Could I Wouldn’t”

A poem by Erik Kirakosyan

remember we used to dance together,

but now the carpet has stained the floor,

time went by so quickly with us,

we don’t dance together anymore,

it started innocently and easy,

but ended with an ugly lie,

couldn’t you let me know before,

when you approached I could deny,

no grudge in me it’s in my pocket,

with other issues laying there,

no Sigmund type could help me out,

couldn’t even get up from the chair,

my back is Kahlo Frida,

you make my throat go shards,

thought you’re my Rivera,

ended up cheating the cards…
