Before I tell you about my concert experience, let me introduce you to BINI, an eight-member Filipino girl group formed by ABS-CBN Entertainment. This group made its debut on June 11, 2021, and it is composed of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena.
BINI is recognized for their music that highlights confidence, positivity, and empowering Filipino Pride. They are also known as “the Nation’s Girl Group.”
Now, let me tell you about my concert experience, which was on June 14, 2025. We arrived at the Peacock Theatre at 5:30 pm, and eventually, some organizers gave us banners that featured the members of the group, and other people were handing us photocards while we were waiting in line. Fortunately, the line went smoothly, and it was well-organized, so there weren’t any problems.
At 8 pm, the opening act, Jamie Ave, came to the stage and sang a few songs to entertain us while we waited for BINI. I didn’t know who he was, so I found that portion of the concert boring, but Jamie’s vocals were outstanding.
At 8:30, BINI finally made their entrance, and the crowd went wild. Screams and cheers were heard in the whole theater. They performed their first song, “Salamin, Salamin” (or “Mirror, Mirror” in English). This song is about having a teenage crush, and the title is a reference to Snow White, where they ask the mirror when their crush will notice them. I really love this track because it’s a really fun and bubbly song, and it’s quite catchy.
The second song they performed was “No Fear”. This song serves as a message of confidence and empowerment to oneself, and it encourages fans to overcome their doubts and fears. As a casual listener, I hadn’t heard of this song before, and it was one of their older ones. Even though I wasn’t as familiar with “No Fear”, it was really nice to hear it live.
After their second song, the members of the group introduced themselves and gave speeches. They said that they’re very thankful for their fans and hoped that the fans would enjoy the rest of the concert.
Their third song was “Lagi” (or “Always”), which conveys the feeling of being in a relationship and the joy and excitement that comes with it. This song’s repetitive lyrics made it stick in my head for the whole duration of the concert.
The fourth song was “Blink Twice”. This is one of their newer ones, and it’s from the Biniverse album. I really enjoyed listening to their English songs, and this was one of my favorites during the concert. It’s all about making a move on your love interest, and “blink twice” is basically a sign of feelings being reciprocated. BINI performed a lot more songs after this, but overall, I really loved the concert.
What made this concert special was when they were performing “Pantropiko”, and they started walking to the section where we were sitting, and we saw them up close. I brought a picture of my bias, Maloi, and she was wearing a strawberry hat which I had edited. She saw it when I was waving at her, and that definitely made my whole night.
Kudos to ABS-CBN and BINI for such a great concert, and it definitely looked like it was prepared and organized. I hope the girls come back to the US for another tour soon! I will definitely be there!
