The action/comedy movie Novocaine was directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, and it was written by Lars Jacobson. The movie was recently released in theaters, and it is currently streaming on multiple platforms.
Nathan Caine (played by Jack Quaid), is a man that has congenital analgesia, which is a syndrome where you lack sensitivity to any type of pain. When the girl of Nathan’s dreams is kidnapped, he takes advantage of his medical condition and goes on a journey to save his one true love from the gang of thugs who are keeping her hostage.
I must say that this film exceeded my expectations. While I was a bit hesitant to watch it at first, it was definitely worth viewing.
The action sequences are very engaging and keep you entertained all the way through. I also really enjoy the entire concept of the film in general. It has a plot that’s realistic, fun, and appealing to viewers. It is an excellent movie to watch with family and friends, as long as they’re okay with watching scenes that involve lots of blood and violence.
This film is such a satisfying blend of genres, including comedy, romance and some brutal gory action. The casting is what makes this movie so great, and you will love the way the characters react to the different moments in the plot.
This movie is also so much fun to watch because, at the end of the day, Nathan is just an average guy who has one of the most badass traits ever. I also love how unique the film is, because it revolves around a medical condition that is rarely talked about, and I can assure you that most people watching this movie have never heard of it.
I was delighted by how intense the story becomes near the end, and this is when we really see the glory of Novocaine. There are several moments that will keep you clenching your teeth and have you on the very edge of your seat. They throw in some twists and gross delights, and ultimately the action scenes almost feel like a reward that all makes the experience that much better.
This movie is definitely worth the watch, and if you don’t believe me, just take a look at its 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Hopefully you take my advice and at least check this movie out this weekend. I guarantee that you won’t regret renting Novocaine on your TV.
