Sandra Bullock has multiple movie hits, and this movie is no exception.
Miss Congeniality, starring Bullock as Gracie Hart, was directed by Donald Petrie and written by Marc Lawrence, Katie Ford, and Caryn Lucas. You can watch Miss Congeniality on Netflix with a subscription, or you could watch it on Google Play, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, or Amazon Prime for around four dollars.
This film shows that any girl can be pretty and feminine, and she can also still be smart and strong at the same time. For this reason, and many others, I will always love this movie.
When the FBI needs to send an undercover female cop to a beauty pageant, which is being threatened by a terrorist group, Gracie is the only cop who looks the part. However, she is no ordinary woman, as she is a tomboy who prides herself on being “one of the boys”. Gracie is terrified of becoming a girly girl, but throughout the movie we get to watch her shine.
I had no idea what to expect when watching this movie for the first time. I knew about beauty pageants, but I had never heard of Miss Congeniality before. I knew this movie would be great when I saw Sandra Bullock starring in the lead role. She is an unbelievable actor who completely transforms herself in whatever role she is playing.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to laugh and be inspired. It shows the strength of a woman, with a comedic twist and a touch of romance. In the movie, Bullock’s love interest is a fellow agent, played by Benjamin Bratt, and both actors are able to capture their chemistry in a very engaging and entertaining way.
To be honest, the movie starts off a little slow, introducing each character slowly while deepening the plot. But once we find out about the Miss United States beauty pageant, we get to meet each contestant and learn their personalities. The movie brings a sense of nostalgia to those who were young in the early 2000s, and it will bring joy to all who watch it.
Miss Congeniality makes the perfect rom-com, by mixing power and beauty into one film. This movie is definitely worth a watch, and for that reason I would give it my highest rating.
