Dorin Mirzaian is a junior at Glendale High School, and she was born and raised in the heart of Glendale. Outside of her leadership role as president of the Letters for Rose Club, she’s passionate about playing soccer, spending time with friends, and staying actively involved in school. 

Whether driving around town or enjoying time with her friend group, Dorin brings her energy and enthusiasm to everything she does, inspiring those around her to give back to their community. Dorin is also the vice president of the junior class, and she is very involved in our school.

The Letters for Rose Club was originally founded by Lia Mirizaian, Dorin’s older sister. Later when Lia graduated, she passed on her leadership role to Dorin, making her the president. 

The Letters for Rose Club was created to help give back to the elderly community of Glendale. Our GHS students make them feel special, by creating handwritten notes. 

One of the main nursing homes that Dorin works with is Scholl Canyon Gracious Living Estate. She said that she and her club members enjoy making elderly people happy, and each card is made with love. Each letter is counted as two hours of community service for our students. 

Dorin says she wants her club to do more in the senior homes this semester, like parties for the seniors, Valentine’s Day events and more! The Letters for Rose Club is a very good part of our community, because not only does it make the elders feel special, but it also makes them feel known and appreciated in every way.
