Nanar Tutunjian is a senior at Glendale High School and has been the GHS Animal Humane Society Club president since her sophomore year. She loves animals and has been helping them throughout high school. Nanar and her friends enjoy working with animals, and they volunteer at different events to make a difference.
It all started during her freshman year when Nanar and her friends were thinking about creating a club. They thought about what they were most passionate about, and since they all loved animals and being around them, they decided to make a club to better serve the animal population in their community.
Nanar and her friends worked together, and during their sophomore year, they made the club official. They eventually partnered with the Animal Humane Society in Pasadena.
Nanar explained how her club offers so many volunteering opportunities, and it has helped her develop her social life. She has been forced to step out of her comfort zone, and she has gotten used to talking to other people and speaking loudly in front of a crowd.
Even outside of school, Nanar keeps volunteering at different places and doesn’t take a day off to rest. She does community service at the Pasadena Humane Shelter, the USC Verdugo Hill Hospital, and a preschool near the Glendale Unified School District.
If you are a pet-loving person, you should join this club. They will give you many community service opportunities, and this year they will be purchasing club hoodies, too.
Nanar plans for her club to donate $500 to a local animal shelter. They will also have a club field trip by the end of this year, to give their goodbyes to their cabinet members, since this is their final year at GHS.
Hopefully, Nanar will find a great ambitious cabinet to take over and continue the club’s goals next year. In the future, Nanar sees herself attending a university, studying for a nursing degree and succeeding in life.
