Veronica Ardon is a senior at Glendale High School. She was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States at a young age. Veronica enjoys cooking during her free time, and her other hobbies are reading books and singing. She is currently the president of the GHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
The FCA is a warm community for Veronica. People form relationships, meet new people, and make new friends during meetings. People across the campus are welcome to gather together and praise God. It is a great place for students to expand their knowledge about Christianity.
The purpose of this club is to learn more about God, share faith, and form a community. The FCA also allows students to find a purpose in their life. Veronica first got involved in this club during her sophomore year. A friend of hers talked about the club and Veronica was excited to join.
“Being able to organize the activities and the ideas is the best part of being the president of the FCA,” Veronica said. She loves organizing huddles, which are lunchtime meetings where they share food, play games, invite guest speakers, and expand their knowledge about God.
The FCA is a club that has grown quite large on our campus. However, there are some challenges for Veronica, including the fact that our school does not always allow members to do specific events and activities on campus. “But overall, everything is pretty good,” Veronica said.
The FCA also provides a safe environment, where students can share their problems and issues. The club gives students a sense of belonging and a purpose for their future.
Over the course of the school year, Veronica wants to spread the word of God to more people. “I would like to teach kids about Christianity,” she mentioned.
After high school, Veronica wants to go to a university where she plans on majoring in speech therapy. She is a kind soul who loves helping people.
