Senior Adri Fenyes is the captain of the cheerleading squad at Glendale High School. She has been a member of the Nitro cheer team since her freshman year and has served as an ASB commissioner since her junior year.
In her free time, Adri enjoys traveling and going to the beach. She also has an after-school job.
Adri has been involved in cheerleading for many years, She began in middle school and has felt a strong desire to be part of something special ever since. For her, cheerleading was the perfect fit.
Throughout Adris’ cheerleading experience, she has learned a lot of things about herself. The most important thing she has learned is to stay confident and dedicated to her performances, with quality and reassurance.
Adri believes that, by demonstrating to her team that she is energetic and enthusiastic, she can get them to stay motivated and focused. Adri said, “Even on days when I’m low on energy, it’s challenging to stay motivated. But I know it’s worth it to keep the team inspired.”
To keep on track, Adri makes sure to never portray herself as someone who is better or on a higher level than her teammates. She prefers being seen as a friend with advice, rather than a strict cheer captain.
Adri is also in her second year of ASB. She says that, although she has never seen herself as a creative person, ASB has boosted her creativity and confidence. Adri also does public speaking with Mr. Jon Livingston, while she reads the sports report on Fridays during the advisory period.
She always makes sure to prepare herself before speaking in front of the school, by reminding herself that nobody ever cares about her errors as much as she does. She tries to always stay confident in everything that she does.
Adri balances both her ASB and cheerleading demands by making sure she has enough time. There are some cases where she has to choose cheerleading over ASB, but she always makes sure to balance both equally. She says her teachers are very understanding and supportive of her busy schedule, so they always give her breaks and different ways to manage her work.
In the future, Adri plans to attend a university and major in business. She also mentioned that, if she attends a school with a cheerleading program, she would love to join.
In the end, Adri is a very dedicated cheerleader, who loves to inspire and spread positivity. She’s a great leader, an awesome public speaker, and a perfect fit for our Nitro cheerleading squad.
